# Interface settings backups

> Back up and restore your addon settings and interface layout.

Your addons' settings, and your interface layout, live in each game version's WTF folder. WowUp can back that folder up and put it back, so a lost layout is easy to restore.

## Opening backups

Open the menu at the right end of the My Addons toolbar and choose **Interface Settings Backup**.

## Creating a backup

Select **Create Backup** to save the selected game version's WTF folder as it is now. **Show Folder** opens the folder where backups are kept.

## Restoring and deleting

Select **Apply this backup** to restore a backup, or **Delete this backup** to remove one you don't need.

> Close World of Warcraft before applying a backup. The game writes to the WTF folder while it runs, and would overwrite the restored settings.
